 Protein: Milk and Much More

Milk contains many of the keys to healthy growth, and Grana Padano enhances its properties. Concentrated within 30 g of cheese are the nutritional values of half a litre of milk, because 15 and a half litres of top quality milk - and more than one year's ripening - go into one kilogram of Grana Padano.

Thus, a small quantity of this product contains the same wholesome ingredients as milk, such as protein, but their nutritional values have been enhanced. As the cheese ripens, the enzymes pre-digest these natural ingredients in a process similar to human digestion, which turns them into low molecular weight compounds (peptones, small peptides and free amino acids).
The result is a highly digestible product with a high nutritional value; indeed, 100 g of Grana Padano have the equivalent values of more than 200 g of meat.
