A Goldmine of Goodness |

Calories and protein are not always enough for our bodies to withstand the frenetic pace of modern life.
We need a constant source of mineral salts to replace what we lose when we work and play.
Grana Padano is an excellent source of minerals such as calcium, which appears as calcium lactate or in phosphopeptides, which ship calcium around the body. 50 g of cheese contain 60% of an adult's recommended daily amount of calcium, which is essential for bones and teeth at any age.
Grana Padano is also high in phosphorus essential for the brain, as well as iodine for the thyroid gland, and selenium.
It is also an important source of copper and zinc, which help slow the ageing process whilst giving tone and power to muscles; and magnesium, which strengthens the skeleton and stimulates the activity of specific enzymes that regulate the body's metabolism.
Over the years, however, one of its essential minerals, sodium chloride, has been cut from 2.5 - 3% to 1.6% by making minor adjustments to the Grana Padano production process. This change was made to satisfy nutritional requirements and developing consumer tastes.
Furthermore, Grana Padano contains an almost full complement of vitamins: A, B1, B2, B6, B12, D, PP and E.
