 A Low-Fat Source of Energy

Grana Padano is a semi-fat cheese made of semi-skimmed milk with a high energy value (a 50 g portion contains about 192 kcal). The energy is created by the oxidation of the fats and protein. It is carbohydrate-free because the milk's lactose is metabolised by the fermented milk during the production and ripening phases, therefore the cheese can be eaten by anyone who has a carbohydrate allergy.

Although Grana Padano is made of animal products, it is high in unsaturated fats, which are the best fats for the human body, and a low, yet beneficial percentage of saturated fats. 50 g of Grana Padano has an average cholesterol content of only 70 mg.
